Could it be a miscarriage?

I was on the pill but I stopped 2 months ago and was still sexually active. my periods are very irregular off the pill and i started again 2 weeks ago and already got my period twice on the pill. i called the after-hours doctor on call and she said it's a high possibility of a miscarriage. should i go get it checked or move on like nothing happened?
